Welcome to Own-it — the GPS territory-capture game where you run and cycle real-world loops to claim zones, attack rivals, and dominate the map. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Own-it iOS application and all related services.
Own-it is operated by the Own-it development team. By downloading, installing, or using the Own-it app you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
These Terms apply to all users of Own-it in all supported regions: the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, and Egypt. Questions? Reach us at support@own-it.fit.

Acceptance of Terms
By downloading Own-it from the Apple App Store, creating an account, or otherwise accessing or using the service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy.
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and the Own-it development team. If you are using Own-it on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of Own-it after any update constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. We will notify users of significant changes through in-app notifications.
The Service
Own-it is a GPS-based territory-capture game available on iOS. Players run or cycle GPS loops in the real world to claim zones on a live map, defend their territory from rivals, form crews, complete landmark challenges, and compete on regional leaderboards.

Own-it requires an active internet connection and access to device GPS for core gameplay. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature or region at any time with or without notice, though we will try to provide advance notice of significant changes.
Account Registration
To use Own-it you must create an account. You may sign in using Sign in with Apple, Google, or your email address. By creating an account you agree to the following:
- Age requirement. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. Users between 13 and 17 should obtain parental or guardian consent before using Own-it, particularly for features that share live GPS location with other players.
- Accurate information. You agree to provide truthful, accurate, and current information when registering and to keep your account information up to date.
- One account per person. Each person may maintain only one Own-it account. Creating multiple accounts to gain a competitive advantage is a violation of these Terms.
- Account security. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at support@own-it.fit if you believe your account has been compromised.
- No transfer. Your account is personal to you and may not be transferred, sold, or shared with any other person.
- Username. Usernames must not impersonate another person, include offensive language, or violate any third-party rights. We reserve the right to reclaim usernames that violate this policy.
We reserve the right to suspend or permanently terminate accounts that violate these Terms, including accounts found to be using GPS spoofing, bots, or other cheating methods. Suspended accounts will lose all associated game data including territories, XP, and streaks.
User Conduct
Own-it is a competitive game played in the real world. By using Own-it you agree to compete fairly and treat other players with respect. The following conduct is strictly prohibited:
- GPS spoofing or location faking
- Using bots, scripts, or automation tools
- Creating multiple accounts for advantage
- Exploiting bugs or glitches
- Purchasing, selling, or trading accounts
- Harassing, threatening, or abusing players
- Posting offensive, hateful, or illegal content
- Attempting to hack or exploit the app
- Distributing malware or phishing links
- Impersonating other users or Own-it staff
- Using Own-it while driving a motor vehicle
- Entering private property, restricted areas, or unsafe locations
- Disregarding traffic laws or pedestrian regulations
- Playing in a manner that endangers yourself or others
- Uploading photos of identifiable third parties without consent
- Sharing content that violates intellectual property rights
- Spam, commercial solicitation, or promotional content
- Content that is illegal in the user's jurisdiction
Violations of this conduct policy may result in content removal, temporary suspension, or permanent account termination without refund of any subscription fees. We encourage users to report violations via support@own-it.fit.

Own-it offers a free tier with optional rewarded ads, and a premium Own-it Pro subscription that unlocks additional features and removes all advertising.

- Billing. All payments are processed exclusively by Apple through the App Store using StoreKit 2. Own-it never sees, stores, or handles your payment card details.
- Auto-renewal. Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
- Cancellation. Cancel at any time in iPhone Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → Own-it Pro. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain Pro access until then.
- Free trial. A 7-day free trial is available to new Own-it Pro subscribers only. Trials automatically convert to a paid subscription unless cancelled before the trial period ends.
- Refunds. All refund requests are handled by Apple in accordance with their refund policy. We do not have the ability to issue refunds directly. To request a refund visit reportaproblem.apple.com.
- Price changes. We reserve the right to change subscription pricing. Existing subscribers will be notified at least 30 days in advance of any price change and will not be charged the new rate until their next renewal date.
Own-it Pro subscriptions are tied to your Apple ID. If you reinstall Own-it or upgrade your device, tap "Restore Purchases" in the app settings to reinstate your Pro access without additional charge.
Advertising
Free users of Own-it may encounter optional rewarded ads powered by Google AdMob. These ads are entirely opt-in — you actively choose to watch an ad in exchange for an in-game reward such as a zone shield. We never display interstitial, banner, or pop-up ads that interrupt gameplay.

You can opt out of personalised ads at any time via Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking on your iPhone. Upgrading to Own-it Pro permanently disables all advertising within the app. For information on how Google AdMob handles data, visit policies.google.com/privacy.
Intellectual Property
Own-it and all of its contents — including but not limited to the app design, source code, graphics, animations, game mechanics, branding, and documentation — are the exclusive intellectual property of the Own-it development team and are protected by copyright, trade mark, and other applicable laws.
- Licence to use. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use Own-it on devices you own or control, solely for your personal, non-commercial enjoyment.
- No copying or distribution. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, sublicense, reverse-engineer, or create derivative works based on the Own-it app or any part of its content.
- No commercial use. You may not use Own-it or any of its assets for commercial purposes without our explicit written consent.
Your content. Content you create within Own-it — such as your username, feed posts, captions, and profile photo — remains yours. By submitting content to Own-it you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to display, reproduce, and distribute that content within the app and associated services for the purpose of operating Own-it. We will not use your content for advertising without your explicit consent. You may delete your content at any time.
GPS & Safety
Own-it is a location-based game intended to be played while running or cycling outdoors. Your physical safety is paramount. By using Own-it you accept the following responsibilities:
- Awareness. Always be aware of your surroundings. Do not let the game distract you from traffic, pedestrians, obstacles, or other hazards.
- No driving. Never use Own-it while operating a motor vehicle of any kind. This is a violation of these Terms and may be illegal.
- Respect laws. Comply with all local laws and regulations regarding outdoor activity, including traffic laws, pedestrian rules, cycling regulations, and access restrictions.
- Private property. Do not enter private property, military zones, or any restricted areas to capture zones. Zones visible near such areas should be approached only from public, legal access points.
- Physical fitness. You are responsible for assessing your own physical fitness before undertaking any running or cycling activity. Consult a medical professional if you have health concerns.
- Environmental conditions. Exercise caution in extreme heat, poor weather, or low-visibility conditions. Own-it does not provide safety or weather warnings.
Liability disclaimer. We are not responsible for any injury, accident, property damage, or loss arising from your use of Own-it during outdoor activity. You participate in all physical activities at your own risk. The app is a game and does not constitute fitness, medical, or navigation advice.
Privacy
Your privacy is important to us. Own-it collects and processes personal data — including your email address, GPS location during runs, and activity statistics — in order to operate the game and deliver the features described in these Terms.

By using Own-it you consent to the collection and use of your data as described in the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with our data practices, please do not use the app.
Termination
Either you or Own-it may terminate your account and your access to the service at any time.
- Delete your account at any time from Profile → Settings → Delete Account
- Email us at support@own-it.fit to request deletion
- Deletion is permanent and removes all game data
- Cancel your Pro subscription separately in iPhone Settings
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms
- Severe violations (cheating, harassment) may result in immediate termination
- We will notify you by email where practicable
- Terminated accounts are not eligible for refunds of remaining subscription time
Upon termination of your account for any reason, your licence to use Own-it is immediately revoked. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination — including Intellectual Property, Disclaimers, Limitation of Liability, and Governing Law — will continue to apply.
Disclaimers
Own-it is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
- GPS accuracy. Own-it relies on device GPS which may be inaccurate, delayed, or unavailable in certain locations. We do not guarantee the precision of territory boundaries, zone capture, or route recording.
- Service availability. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. We may perform maintenance that temporarily limits access to the app.
- Data loss. While we take reasonable steps to protect your game data, we are not responsible for any loss of game progress, territories, XP, streaks, or other in-game assets arising from technical errors, server outages, or account termination.
- Third-party services. Own-it integrates with third-party services such as Firebase, Mapbox, and Google AdMob. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or conduct of these third-party services.
- Other users. We are not responsible for the conduct, content, or actions of other Own-it users. Interactions between players, including competitive gameplay, are at your own risk.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Own-it development team, its members, affiliates, and partners shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of Own-it, including but not limited to:
In jurisdictions where limitations on implied warranties or exclusion of certain damages are not permitted, our liability shall be limited to the maximum extent permitted by law. In no event shall our total liability to you exceed the amount you paid for Own-it Pro in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or USD $10, whichever is greater.
Governing Law
These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Arab Emirates, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms, including any question regarding their existence, validity, or termination, shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the United Arab Emirates, unless otherwise required by applicable mandatory law in your jurisdiction.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid under applicable law, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. When we make material changes — such as changes to how subscriptions work, what conduct is permitted, or how disputes are resolved — we will:
- Post the updated Terms at this URL and update the "Last updated" date
- Notify users of significant changes via an in-app notification or banner
- For substantial changes, provide at least 14 days notice before the new Terms take effect
Your continued use of Own-it after the effective date of any updated Terms constitutes your acceptance of the changes. If you disagree with the revised Terms, you may terminate your account before the changes take effect.
